The Noel, Nativity or commonly referred to as Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Christ Jesus. It is a festival celebrated by billions of people around the world( mostly Christians) on the 25th of December( although the actual month and date have several contentions) as a religious festival. Some events like the Christmas Eve and Boxing day come before and after the event.

Some events that do take place during the celebration of Christmas makes it obvious that some people have long forgotten the real reason for the celebration. People engaged in so many activities that totally defile it essence. The Bible tells us in 1John 3:8 what Christ is here for and that is, to “destroy the work of the devil”. If we allow the devil to use us to do evil in the season, we have lost the meaning of the coming of Christ and use the celebration of his birth to the advantage of the devil. The reason for the season is Jesus Christ and why He came to this world ( to destroy evil). Let us not be carried away by works and thoughts manipulated by the devil to do the devil’s work.
God is love, so Jesus came to this world because of the love the Father has for us, as seen in John 3:16. The father sent Jesus to us not for us to serve him but for him to serve us , “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). Christmas should be an event where God’s people channel Godly love to the less privilege and to one another as God the Father full of love and compassion gives us Jesus Christ His only son.

It is not a season of legerdemain because, Some think Christmas is a period that they can show to the world how bad they are and also to show many of their negative attitude or conduct. For those having the intention of showcasing their bad morals: “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). Not the other way round.

For some it creates a conjuration, because they think Christmas creates an avenue to form an evil league. God sent Christ so that we can live through him, as seen in 1 John 4:9. If we avail our selves in evil activities, we are living against him. May we live to do good in this season.
